A Downtown Paducah favorite is celebrating a meaningful milestone this spring. The Pour Room, located at 110 S 3rd Street, is a candle and scent bar that has been creating experiences and lasting memories for customers for five years now.
Founded by Terra Bass, The Pour Room was created with a vision that goes far beyond candles. Since opening in April 2021, the space has become known for its hands-on experiences, beginning with candle making and expanding to cologne and fragrances, as well as hosting themed events that quickly sell out.
Built on a passion for people and connection, The Pour Room was designed to be more than a place to create a product. It’s a space where moments are shared, memories are made, and visitors are invited to slow down and enjoy the experience. As Terra describes it, “Scents are more than a bad smell or a good smell. Scents are memories, scents are places, scents are people, scents are moods.”
For Terra, choosing Downtown Paducah as the home for The Pour Room was a natural decision. “Downtown has always been my place, it feels like home and there’s nothing and nowhere like Downtown Paducah,” she shares. That sense of belonging and connection is something she has intentionally woven into The Pour Room’s culture, creating a welcoming environment for both locals and visitors alike.
This year marks five years of that vision coming to life. Reflecting on the milestone, Terra shared, “We haven’t just created a candle shop, we have created a place full of memories. We have created a community.”
While the official anniversary took place on Thursday, April 9, The Pour Room will host a 5-Year Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. No creating will happen, rather the evening will focus on celebrating the people who have supported the business over the years, with time to gather, connect, and enjoy the space together.
“We’re celebrating the people who made it possible,” Terra says. “We would love to see all of you there.”
The Pour Room has become an integral part of the Downtown Paducah landscape, offering something truly unique to the community and its visitors.
