Robin Hardy’s 1973 British folk-horror is a masterpiece of the form that the Guardian calls “a strange but essential B-movie artifact.”
“The film is a wild, rare confection – a product of true vision made for little money that endures both as a film and as a key object of influence on much of the great art that has come since,” wrote critic Shaad D’Souza in 2020. “Like Howie’s visit to Summerisle, a viewing of The Wicker Man is a trip you’re likely to find hard to shake.”
The May 1-4 screenings of The Wicker Man are being done in partnership with Left Of The Dial, and John Null is programming a special folk-horror pre-show that can be viewed before each showing.
