Paducah Main Street is continuing its Partners in Paducah series with Patrick Furniture. As a 2026 Platinum Sponsor, Patrick Furniture supports and believes Paducah Main Street’s mission of growing and preserving historic Downtown Paducah.
Laura Beth Eck, owner of the Patrick Furniture Paducah location, shared more about the company’s history and vision for Downtown Paducah.
Since 1946, Patrick Furniture has been part of the retail landscape in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, serving generations of families through a family-owned approach centered on quality furniture and personal relationships. While the company’s roots began in Southeast Missouri, Laura Beth always dreamed of bringing Patrick’s to Paducah after she and her husband moved here in 1991. At the time, her grandfather, who founded Patrick Furniture, was not looking to expand into Paducah. However, four years ago, Laura Beth’s brothers, who now own the family business, approached her about opening and managing a Paducah location, and she absolutely embraced the opportunity.
Patrick Furniture is located at 1428 Broadway, nestled between the downtown and midtown areas of Paducah. Laura Beth shared that when choosing a location, her brother Pat asked, “Are you sure you don’t want to be out by the mall?” While she absolutely appreciates the mall area, Laura Beth felt strongly that Patrick’s belonged closer to the downtown community. “I love the midtown and downtown areas’ rich culture, and it fits us better”.
Having fallen in love with Paducah back in 1991, Laura Beth recognized the importance of investing in the city’s historic downtown and supporting the mission of Paducah Main Street. “Downtown and Midtown are everybody’s downtown and midtown,” she shared. “It lays a very good foundation for us, to have new connections for people to come in and know who we are.”
For Laura Beth, the close-knit culture is what draws her to Downtown Paducah. “I love a lot of things about it,” she shared. “I love the quaintness of it, I love the fact that there are so many family-owned businesses, and I love the nightlife in Downtown Paducah.”
When asked about Paducah’s future, Laura Beth said she believes the city’s growth is only beginning. “It’s going to be big,” she shared. “I’ve lived here for over 31 years, and just in the past three years, I’ve seen so much growth and I believe Paducah Main Street is a big part of that.” By investing in this partnership, Patrick Furniture is investing in that shared vision for the future of Downtown Paducah.
When asked if there is anything new she would like to see in Downtown Paducah, Laura Beth responded, “We’re already doing it!” She shared her excitement for the upcoming Fridays After Five concert series in Downtown Paducah beginning Friday, June 5.
